Economic Development Initiatives
The Chamber has formed partnerships to promote Economic Development here in Central Delaware. The purpose of these partnerships is to gather information, address needs, build infrastructure, and identify revenue sources to assist in retention of current businesses and market to new businesses looking to relocate in Central Delaware.
The CDCC’s partners in this initiative are:
Downtown Dover Partnership (DDP)
Delaware Prosperity Partnership (DPP)
Kent Economic Partnership (KEP)

In an effort to keep Chamber Members informed about the health of the economy , an Economic Forecast Breakfast is held each year. This event is designed to give a snapshot of the economic health of the nation, the state, and the county by experts in the field as they strive to explain the impacts of financial health on the business community. Participants often ask questions during the event that initiative lively discussions about this incredibly important topic and its impact on area businesses.
Also under this initiative the CDCC has formed a Transportation Committee. The Transportation Committee, dedicated to improving all transportation infrastructures needed for business growth, works closely with the Delaware Dept. of Transportation, the Dover/Kent County Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Delaware Transportation Management Association. The committee continually focuses on wider transportation and infrastructure issues.
