Q. When did you begin working for this business and what is your role?
I began working for Senior Helpers in January of this year. I am the Community Relations Coordinator and my role is to build relationships with the communities we serve and educate people about our services and others that relate to the senior pop
Q. History of when the business began...
Senior Helpers was founded in Baltimore, MD in 2001. The Dover Office opened in 2008 and serves lower New Castle, Kent, and Sussex Counties. Senior Helpers nationally has over 300 offices in 38 states and Canada. It is the fastest growing senior care franchise in the United States.
Q. What products/services does your company offer?
Senior Helpers connects professional caregivers with seniors who wish to live at home as opposed to a nursing or assisted living facility. Senior Helpers offers a wide range of personal and companion care services, including Alzheimer's/dementia care, to assist seniors living independently with a strong focus on quality of life for clients and peace of mind for their families. Senior Helpers strives to be the leading companion and personal care provider that offers dependable, consistent and affordable home care. There are no contracts, no minimum hours and a flat hourly or daily rate regardless of the services performed. All caregivers are employees of Senior Helpers, where we are responsible for their State and Federal tax obligations, workman's compensation, unemployment insurance, liability insurance and bonding.
Q. What do you see in the future for the business?
I see continued growth for Senior Helpers in the future. With the rapid growth in the aging population, the opportunities for us to contribute to the enrichment of the seniors in our community will continue to expand.
Q. What, in your opinion, does the Chamber do for you and your business?
The networking opportunities provided by the Chamber have proven invaluable. I have made many contacts in the short time I have been a member and I have to come to appreciate the camaraderie. Even if a member cannot use our services immediately or vice versa, there seems to be a general understanding between Chamber members to turn to one another when they are in need of a service.
Q. What would you like to see the Chamber offer to its members?
I am always interested in opportunities, the networking groups I am involved in offer to participate in charity or community events. I also think it would be beneficial to have a Business to Business Expo and more events that involve other Chambers to provide opportunities to network with a greater variety of professionals.
Q. Is there anything else the CDCC Members should know about you or your business?
Chris Stetzar, owner of Senior Helpers, and I are always available to answer any questions about Senior Helpers. Additionally, we offer many valuable teaching tools for families and seniors as they deal with the myriad of issues relating to the aging process. We will always help an individual or family member find the right resource for their loved one in the community regardless if it is a service we can or cannot provide. We strive to be the areas premiere senior resource as well as trusted in-home care company. Don't hesitate to contact either one of us.
