Ron has provided leadership for over thirty-six years to non-profit organizations as an executive director and development director. His direction in endowment resulted in thirty-four new gifts to the fund averaging one per month for three years.

As a charter member and President of the AFP NJ, Southern Chapter Ron guided the organization to be recognized with the AFP International "Ten Star Award" for 2009 and 2010. As the Chairman of the Valley Council of Health and Human Service Organizations in Connecticut, comprised of over fify non-profit organizations, he chaired a five-community "Cradle to Grave" study, which resulted in increased coordination of services between government, hospital, and non-profit organizations.

In 2011 Ron worked with The Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences to conduct a board development training in fundraiser. Marianne Gellman, Development Director for the organization, said, "Well, what can we say? You did a great job and helped us out with our board development and fundraising a lot! We've gotten good feedback on the morning's activities - everything from 'That was really helpful' to 'That wasn't so bad after all!'"

The American Lung Association is the oldest voluntary health organization in the United States. Founded in 1904 to fight tuberculosis, our mission to save lives by promoting lung health and preventing lung disease has expanded to fight all lung diseases through research, education and advocacy. We are committed to building a smoke-free America, investing in lung health research, and providing education and services to make us the top resource for lung health information.

Kent County Tourism, established in 1989, is Kent County/Greater Dover's premier non-profit destination marketing organization. We are charged with strengthening the county's economy by promoting the area's unique spirit and travel experiences to visitors as a year-round, overnight and "return visit" destination for meetings, group tour and leisure travel.

This includes assisting with tourism product development and the creation of packaging and marketing opportunities that showcase Kent County's lodging industry, attractions, eateries, the arts, retail establishments as well as sports and recreation, while also supporting preservation and quality of life for all those living and working in Kent County. We are guided by a 30-member Board of Directors, comprised of representatives of the tourism industry as well as municipal and county government officials.

Did you know that Kent County receives approximately two million visitors every year? To attract and serve these customers, we focus on three primary segments of travel industry. The largest, representing about 85 percent of our visitors, is the leisure market.

We concentrate about 15 percent of our efforts on meetings, conventions and reunions, along with the group tour, or motorcoach business. Our customers range from conventioneers to bird-watchers and NASCAR fans, to history lovers, gamblers and wedding planners, to name a few. No two visiting customers are ever alike.

We accomplish those goals with targets sales and marketing campaigns; trade shows; site visits; websites, broadcast and electronic media, printed and digital brochures and social media. We also cultivate relationships with travel writers, and produce some of the area's most popular events including the Dover Days Festival, Amish Country Bike Tour and Delaware Wine & Beer Festival.
